It started off as a pop up restaurant and has now been revamped into a restaurant serving world cuisine and eclectic cocktails. This is a place worthy to give you wanderlust with all the beachy vibes. They have a pretty and quite spacious indoor seating as well. It includes a huge bar area as well as a separate stage area. The outdoor seating includes a hammock, quite nice really. The service is definitely another plus point. Found the staff to be really polite.
In cocktails I opted for Lethal Iced Tea. Earth variant which was an amalgamation of rum, gin, vodka, tequila, triple sec, lime, sugar, rosemary, apple and cola. Apt to the name, it will definitely get you high. Smoking Aces which was a concoction of cinnamon smoked bourbon, apple juice, cream de cassis, lime and angostura bitter, this is one of those classic flavour combinations that never goes out of fashion, absolute heaven for whiskey lovers. Both the drinks were fantastic and recommended.
Himalayan “Spiced Rum” Tea, a combination of spiced rum, Himalayan tea, ginger, honey and lemon. This is one of those soothing winter drinks. Although honey was there in the recipe but it lacked the required sweetness. Fresh Ginger Martini, an infusion of brandy, ginger, orange juice, lime and triple sec. Got it customised by adding lemongrass to it, which made it even more delicious, recommended this is.
Coming to the food, began the meal with Wild Mushroom and Truffle Risotto, I liked the taste and texture as I prefer less cheese. The mushrooms and rice were beautifully cooked. Herb Crusted Basa in Chipotle chili & Rosemary Cream, the basa was so soft and that chipotle chili sauce absolutely binded the dish together, recommended this is. Slow Roasted Mushrooms, I ordered this dish on manager’s recommendation and I am so glad that I did. Absolutely on of the best mushroom dishes I have tasted till date. Beautifully creamy with herb croutons adding texture to the dish, this is not to be missed.
Veg Kerela Pepper Curry, this was served on a bed of steamed rice. Although it was a pepper based gravy the level of spiciness was just right. Portuguese Devils Curry Veg, this was served along with ginger coconut rice. This was my favourite dish out of the lot. That beautiful coriander flavour in the gravy was to die for. This dish is not to be missed. The inclusion of cashew nut in this gravy kept the level of spiciness just right.
Now lastly let’s come to the desserts. Warm Gooey Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream, well expected a lot but it tasted burned. Tabula Beach Chocolate Fondue, caramelized marshmallows dunked in hot chocolate sauce was quite lovely.
Summing up, the ambiance is definitely the forte of this place. Include fantastic cocktails and delicious food in the equation and this place becomes a must visit. I am quite happy with my food experience at this place.
