Mesmerising Designs showcased at the 8th edition of Indian Runway Week

3rd day of India Runway Week was a fashion extravaganza with designers showcasing their Spring Summer Collection. Indian Runway week has been known for promoting textiles and this year also it continued to weave its magic. Shravan collaborated with Khadi Gram Udyog conceptualizing some major fashion statements. With Mughda Godse and Swara Bhaskar to slay the ramp, it offered everything that a fashionista could ask for. Another added bonus to the 8th edition was the “fashion shuttle”. The chance to get your make up down and trying on the clothes from various designers was definitely one of the highlights. Many designers showcased their designs and I would walk you through the same.

Suprachi’s clothes

Designs were stunning, technically lofty fabrications and ladylike sophistication, certain hauteur. It was pretty thrilling to see the designer delve into silhouettes which were dramatic, bold and yet filled with feminine grace. An eclectic mix of dresses made from interwoven threads of cotton and silk, a perfect balance between ease and magnificence. The pastel palette of light and airy colors makes this collection easy to wear and subtle on the eyes. The pieces speak a language of their own, fancy necklines with frill and flounce, a happy interplay of softness and expression. It makes it hard not to stop and admire the beauty of this very desirable collection.

Spring Summer Collection by Anshita Garg

It aims at comfort and chic clothing. The motifs in the collection are inspired by female fashion croquis directed into geometric shapes. The collection exhibits the use of zari and bead work in western clothing along with light weight fabric like linen satin and maheshwari silk.

Pooja Peshoia Collection

This was inspired by the natural reflections which illuminate the ocean’s surface, the collection was strong and opulent yet fluid and feminine. Designed for the determined woman of today there was a blend of forward modernity yet rooted with traditional elegance and detailing. There was a variety of graceful lehangas, structured peplums jackets, crop top and skirts, sophisticated gowns, chic sarees and striking jumpsuits. The ensembles were made of sheer organza, tulle, silks and satins. Cool blues, pretty pastels and shimmery gold outfits glimmered the runway with dazzling crystals, sequins, beads and intricate hand embroideries.

Clotho

This brand showcased unputdownable collection with a pastel palette, nature inspired handwork and embellishments, recolouring nature in different hues and shades.  They kept an involvement of translucent textiles with structural as well as falling silhouettes. Their Clothing line is the extension of one’s personality, not making it a trend but a part of a woman wearing it. Clotho interestingly fusion its designs with Tribana’s Padma collection, the lotus in its many forms, the blooming flower, the chakras or the energy points of the body, as well as the divine purity & femininity.

Delhi based Designer- Ankur j Launched his Amun-Ra (hidden light) Collection

This emphasizes on Egyptian colors and prints with contemporary mix…must watch in the collection is the 5D Egyptian beetles state of the art prints and Egyptian gods while doing fine justice to the Indian art. With the collection, he raised the message of “Help Egypt Help an Heritage”.  Egypt is famous for its ancient civilizations and also some of the earliest and most famous monuments of the world but it’s facing many grâve problems. “the issue which struck his attention was “taharrush gamea.” which means “group harassment” in Arabic, “sexual assault by a bunch of Arab men” or “gang-rape game” and that it’s a normal thing in the Arab World. Also named “a circle of hell” More than 99 percent of women and girls in Egypt interviewed for a survey published by UN Women in 2013 reported that they had experienced some form of sexual harassment.

RIDHANSH by Sonia Gaba

They presents their collection “Nazakat”. The name itself explains “beauty is in the way you present it”. Whatever you wear, becomes beautiful in the way you handle it. In this show designer Sonia Gaba showcased collection which has a mixture of whites, yellows and goldens, pairing it with some elegant jewellery.

Priyamvada Couture

This brand is a passion of two ladies, from different generations, brought together to form a rare combination of Indian fashion. Lot of Frills, layers, shirring, stonework perfectly compliments the simple silhouettes adding to their distinctive appeal of fun and festive collection. The tailoring beautifully enhances the body whilst exaggerating key areas such as shoulder, waist line and hip.

It reflects such evergreen splendor and the surreal complexity. This collection highlights the effortless flow with luxurious drapes & superior quality of the fabrics. The indo Western silhouette of the garments enhances & signifies the bond between the east and the west. The classic lehenga paired with a cape & the tulip pants with cold shoulder top are some anomalous examples of collection. Touched by a sumptuous dose of experimentation and chic, it majorly focuses on the overall comfort and wearability. The garments are adorned with unique embellishments inspired from the depth of the forests. Simple leaves and flowers take beautiful forms with the creative touch amidst the shades of greens & browns. The designs are handcrafted to accentuate the feminity of the modern woman. Tribe Vibe Collectives”  by Akassh K Aggarwal

This is an inspiration from the world of Bohemian Self Love, In a society that has seen women as the weaker and the second sex, here’s a Bow Down to the ones who decided to live the way they wanted to, no matter how crazy or rebellious. Bollywood Glam Swara Bhaskar walked the ramp for Delhi based designer. The collection is Vibrant that Resonates with the Symbolism of Old Tribal Art of PEROI and Jadau fine techniques in filigree motif, stamped light weight metal sheet work, embossed 3D and Metallic Gold & Silver with ORGANIC Gemstones like CORAL PEARLS TURQUOISE LAPIZ LAZZULI. Assortment of Multiple Accessories Options, gives the collection a versatility to be worn on ethnic as well with Indo Western , The time is about to be Jewelled Bold & Beautiful. The collection comes with a social message of “Changing Phase of Feminism”.  Rangbari. Florid handcrafted collection

Embraces and celebrates the ethnicity of Indian culture with its new vibrant collection Rangbari. Florid handcrafted collection is inspired from the handicrafts of Rajasthan. The distinctive ornamented embroidery glamorizes the outfits and hues make it look elegant. Multicolor hues are playful and synonymous with festivities. With an aspiration to create illimitable creation Tevar handcrafts its garments at its design studio and workshop in Mumbai.

Ritambhara Paliya

She specializes in Evening gowns, lehengas, Anarkali’s and maxi dresses and also into fairytale and destination weddings attires that are rooted in quintessentially Indian sensibilities but with the modern twist.  Shamita Shetty walked the ramp for Ritambhara Paliya. Her collections are made up with pure rich fabrics to create an effortless style that executes elegance. Completed her education from Indian Institute of fashion technology, Ritambhara has fascinated the world of fashion by her unique and mesmerizing creations, innovative ideas and style in haute couture which are modern yet classy. Her each garment is made up with extra love and care as she believes every woman is beautiful and her designs are like icing on the cake. It makes them look more sensuous, elite and elegance and also maintain the class that every woman desired for.

“Gol Gol Rani Freddie Mercury”

Kristy De Cunha did the grand finale of India Runway Week Season 8 -Kristy De Cunha who is widely known as a young emerging designer will be showcasing collection “Gol Gol Rani Freddie Mercury”. It’s a quirky twist on Freddie Mercury. The collection is curated with edgy prints with vibrant colors, that are a trademark to Kristy D Cunha’s style of clothing catered to an intelligent audience. The collection will be catering to both men’s and women’s clothing.

The fashion gala was organised by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development at Thyagraj sports complex.
