Jaipour Cafe – One that reminds you of Santorini

The first thought that came to my mind when I saw this place was Santorini. The blue and white theme of this restaurant completely creates that illusion. The place is divided into two sections with the lower floor housing the bar area. Opted to sit on the comfortable huge swing just for the fun of it. The service was top notch and the servers were exceedingly polite.

In cocktails I tried, Cucumber Mojito, this drink was refreshing but I was never really a big fan of cucumber in my drink. Coffee Cafine, a concoction of Ballantine’s whisky and coffee, this drink had a smokey flavour to it and became my absolute favourite. Highly recommended for whisky and coffee lovers. Achari Caprioska, a combination of vodka, mint, lime and pickle, this was a tangy and delicious cocktail. Again one of my personal favourite and is highly recommended.

Also tried Kokum Bunta with was made with Bacardi and Kala Khatta Bunta which was made with rum. This place is famous for its buntas and good reason, don’t leave this place without trying it out. Another thing that is worth mentioning is alcoholic popsicle. I tried the cherry flavour which was made with gin, brandy, cranberry juice and cherry and taste wise it was absolutely lip smacking, highly recommended.

Coming to the food I ate, Classic Vada Pao, these were more like vada pao sliders served with khus sherbet in shot glasses accompanied with pudina chutney and fried chilly. Don’t compare it with an authentic vada pao, taste wise it was really good. Slow Cooked Rajasthani Lal Maas Tacos, loved the modern take on this authentic dish. These soft shell tacos were spicy and divine, highly recommended. Keema Anda Pakora, boiled egg coated with keema and deep fried, in other words Scotch egg. Again this dish was made to perfection, thoroughly enjoyed it.

A special mention to their Chakna platter which included 9 kinds of chakna. And every individual item in this dish tasted delicious whether it be the popcorn, peanuts or even the crispy wai wai noodles. Don’t forget to order this along with your drink.

Summing up, I spent a fantastic evening at this place. Kudos to the management for such a fine job.
