Fat Lulu’s – For thin crust pizza and kickass sangria

Pizza is an all-time comfort food and Fat Lulu’s offers one of the best in town. The pizzas offered by them is closest you can get to authentic Italian. I recently visited their Crosspoint Mall outlet, which is the only outlet of Fat Lulu’s to have a bar. The open kitchen gives you a proper view of your food getting prepared. The place ain’t that big and quickly got occupied during Saturday lunch hours. The service was commendable.

I was quite happy to see that they have Blue Tokai coffee on their menu and I opted to begin my meal with that. Choose to have Cortado which was two shots expresso with milk. A bit on the stronger side this was fantastic and is highly recommended for coffee lovers.

Next comes the pizza. I opted for half n half, Queens and Chilly Willy. It was a 14 inch pizza with nepoli base. Queens on restaurant’s recommendation and Chilly Willy was chosen by me given the chilly element. Queens had the toppings of olives, red onions for a bit of crunch, rocket leaves for the freshness, little bit of feta cheese with Jalapenos which provided the required zing. Chilly Willy on the other hand included Pimento Chilly, bird eye chilly, jalapenos, mushroom & roasted garlic. Now the chillies may look innocent but they totally pack a punch, this one is specially recommended for spice lovers.

No pizza meal is complete without a sangria. And I choose Berry & Spicy Sangria which is one of their signature drinks. Refreshing drink packing a punch, totally delicious this was and is highly recommended. Kickin Chicken, this was chunks of grilled chicken and pineapple tossed with BBQ sauce. The chicken wings were perfectly cooked and were sweet, spicy and tangy at the same time. What took me by surprise were the pineapple pieces, they tasted absolutely fabulous. Loved it so much that ordered a second serving. This dish is recommended.

I finished the meal with Toffee Caramel Waffle. Although the waffles were nicely made, they could have been a bit more generous with the caramel sauce. Found this dish to be pretty average. Overall, pizza and sangria is what they make best and for that I would like to come back.
