I have been a part of Delhi’s gastronome’s community for a while now, and I finally decided to pin down the restaurants I consider to be the best fine places in Delhi. From lavish ambiance, peerless service and lip smacking food, these places are truly the best of the best. I am specifying beforehand that it only includes restaurants that I have been to personally.
Brainchild of Chef Sujan Sarkar, this restaurant takes the concept of modern Indian cuisine to next level. Located in Mehrauli, the menu of this place is truly innovative, whether it be the food or the cocktails. Dishes like Passion Fruit Panipuri, Sweet corn pav bhaji, Ras Malai and many more are an absolute delight. I would highly recommend the Chef tasting menu of this place, it is unlike anything I have ever tried before. The dishes are absolutely spectacular.
Located in Gurugram, this placed introduced the concept of sous vide cocktail to the Delhi NCR food scenario. Another outlet that provides some absolutely fabulous modern Indian cuisine. Their gin cocktails and house liquors are totally rave worthy. Dishes like Champaram Meat, Sweet corn khichdi, mutton and egg bhurji are highly recommended.
3. Whisky samba
If you are whisky lover then this place should be on your list. The bar stocks even one of the hardest whiskies to find. Their food and cocktails are no less amazing. From dimsum brunches to soul satisfying Indian food, they got it all. This is another gem of a place located in Gurugram.
4. La Piazza
Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Delhi to enjoy Italian cuisine. Their Pizza La Piazza which is completely vegetarian will give a hard competition to even the best of non-vegetarian pizzas. Same goes for their spaghetti, risotto and tiramisu, undoubtedly the best I had in Delhi. This restaurant is located inside Hyatt Regency in Bhikaji Cama Place, and is 25 years old. This restaurant is in a league of its own.
5. Burma Burma
Never had vegetarian food like this before. Even hard core non-vegetarians rave about this place. This place serves Burmese cuisine, and everything on the menu is vegetarian, and the food is to die for. Their salad platter, mock meat bun, mock duck curry and absolutely outstanding desserts are totally worth trying.
Visit any of the above mentioned places, and believe me you won’t regret it. To checkout few of the legendary food outlets in Delhi, click here.
